Creative Director

A graduate of the film production program at San Francisco State University who specialized in philosophy and film theory, as social media manager and marketing strategist Haroon Adalat is passionate about utilizing good design to get people excited about watching Fandor films and expanding their movie knowledge. Off the clock he can be found attending local repertory film screenings, making custom furniture, or rereading Gilles Deleuze’s “Cinema” books.

Dan Aronson has been at the forefront of technology since the '80s. He began building supercomputers at Thinking Machines Corporation and he was an early employee at WAIS, the first internet search engine company. He cofounded anti-spam company Brightmail and internet incubator Campsix, and has been on the boards of City Car Share and networked music player company Slim Devices.

Al has been a Ruby programmer since 2001, a professional Rails developer since 2010, and has also held QA and customer success roles. He once studied plasma physics for controlled thermonuclear fusion power generation but nowadays tends a herd of horses and an assortment of other animals when not at the office.

Ignacia Chu-Jacoby is a tech nerd, Google fan and Professional Development coach. She is the Office wizard who makes things happen in the office. During her free time she is volunteering her time as a tech career coach or watching films or doing some craft projects. Her previous experience has been working with Year Up as a Volunteer Recruiter, Jones IT Awesome Office Manager and Founder of DARTS at UC Merced.

Jess Ellison studied the transpersonal effects of film on the human psyche as part of her Holistic Psychology degree from Lesley University and has since justified indulging in countless hours of movies and tv. After working in healthcare she found her way to Fandor to write code. When she’s not coding, she can be found practicing yoga, eating brunch, or hiking.

Talia Feder is an experimental artist with a background in fine arts and film. She has her BA in Cinema from San Francisco State University. Her films have been screened at The Great Wall of Oakland, BAMPFA, Victoria Theater and Artists' Television Access. A cinephile since her childhood in NYC, Talia recently returned to San Francisco to join Fandor.

Gail Gendler

Gail Gendler

Head of Programming

Gail Gendler has extensive experience negotiating content deals for Sundance Channel's domestic and global channels supporting the Channel's global expansion from three to more than 100 countries in five years. She has experience navigating relationships with studios, mini-majors and independent distributors for Pay TV and On-Demand deals. Prior to Sundance, Gendler worked at NBC in Olympic Unit and on "Later..with Bob Costas". She holds a BS in Broadcast Journalist from the S.I Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.

Becky Gillig

Becky grew up watching classic Hollywood films in Kentucky. When she was applying to colleges everyone asked her what she would major in, so she said "film?" She ended up as an American Studies Major (Film Minor) at Wesleyan University, but masqueraded as a film major by working in the cinema and archives. She has worked in film distribution and festival coordination at The National Center for Jewish Film. At Fandor, she works on getting stuff done in the biz dev department. You may find her at the Stanford Theater singing along to the pipe organ between double features.

Levi Hill is a (relatively) fresh college grad from UC Berkeley — where he graduated at the top of his class with a BA in Film & Media. After working for Napa Valley Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival, he has found himself thriving once again in the Bay Area, discussing all things film at Fandor. Also, as a lifelong film fanatic and having (a selective) photographic memory, feel free to test him on random information regarding films, including but not limited to a film's release year, director's name/bio, and what Oscar nominations a film garnered.

Born in a pottery studio to artist parents, Shaina grew up in an environment that celebrated creativity. After ample artistic exploration, she discovered her true love in film and filmmaking. She went on to graduate from UC Berkeley at the top of her class with a BA in Film Studies. She has since worked in every stage of video production and post-production for films, branded, and editorial content. After working as a video editor for over five years, she continues to foster her passion for crafting and publishing engaging high quality content in all its forms as the Editorial Director at Fandor.

Bradley Hyppa

Senior Content Engineer

Bradley Hyppa is a video professional and artist based in San Francisco, CA where he implements video solutions and workflows to keep films looking their best at Fandor. Hyppa’s own experimental video work has been installed in gallery exhibitions, projected in public spaces, and screened in festivals internationally. When not staring at pixels, Hyppa can be found wandering the city as if he were Scottie, or relaxing in Alamo Square, watching the same photo be taken over, and over again. He can also make a formidable pie.

Sarah Johnson grew up blocks away from the Texas Theater. She attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she learned how to describe the semiotic mise-en-scène of the Fast and Furious franchise. Prior to Fandor, she was Assistant Programmer at nonprofit cinematheque The Cinefamily. When she’s not meticulously combing through hours of footage, she makes zines and hyper-specific websites.

Chris Kelly

Chris Kelly joined Facebook in 2005 as one of the first senior employees, and at various times served the company as General Counsel, Vice President of Corporate Development, Chief Privacy Officer, and Head of Global Public Policy.  He left in 2009 to pursue the Democratic nomination for Attorney General of California.  In 2010, he launched Kelly Investments, a family office pursuing transformational investments in technology, media, and finance. Fandor is one of the fund’s earliest companies.

Nick Kos... err, Kinling, grew up in the DMV. He got his start coloring between the lines until one day he started to branch out and actually draw the lines himself. In his free time he likes to buy coffee beans from costco, microwave them, and sell them to his friends. He likes goats, wolves and sometimes cabbage.

Joaquin Lowe grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received his MFA in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has worked at Tin House Books, Bellevue Literary Press, and Soho Press. He has always wanted to be a writer, except when he was very young and wanted more than anything to be the fifth Ninja Turtle, the Ravi Shankar of sewer dwelling mutant reptiles.

Eric Malyshev

Programming Manager

Eric Malyshev is Fandor’s Manager of Programming. He joined Fandor in Spring 2017 from AMC Networks International’s NYC office. At AMC, Malyshev was an integral part of the acquisitions team that oversaw The Sundance Channel and AMC’s expansion into Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to AMC, he worked at Magnolia Pictures in their international distribution and festival divisions and at Screen Media as part of their sales team. Malyshev got his start at A&E Networks where he served as commercial scheduler. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Russian Studies minor from Emory University in Atlanta.

She started her career at the international law firm of White & Case. Felice received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her JD from NYU School of Law.

Tiffany Parker received a BFA in filmmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. Prior to joining Fandor, she was involved with the San Francisco Cinematheque and was an active member of A.V. Collective Film. When she's not ensuring the quality of the Fandor film library, she makes short films of her own and takes full advantage of the myriad of neat films she has at her disposal.

Trained in animation at RISD, Albert Reinhardt's tinkering nature led him instead to video games upon graduation. At Knowledge Adventure, he led kick-ass teams creating award-winning CD-ROM and online games. He later founded HappyGoFun, Inc. and focused on design and UX. Working with teams at Fujitsu Labs of America, he co-authored several patents for innovations in motion interface and search. He returned to his filmic roots when he founded Fandor with Dan and Jonathan.

Laura Rickett is a lover of numbers. She has always worked with smart, fun, creative people and is happy to be learning a lot about films here at Fandor. She has held various financial positions in the entertainment business - at CBS, marketing, design and ad agencies, and most recently worked as manager of YouTube produced channels.

After working for various startups, always with a love for cinema, he found his way to Fandor.

Inducted into prestigious Cable Pioneers as the only member who never worked for a cable company, John Zamoiski founded, led and sold three of the most successful communications and entertainment marketing companies in the country. As the Chairman of the Promotion Marketing Association Worldwide, Chair of the Agency Council of CTAM and as an adjunct professor at NYU, Zamoiski has been a sought after speaker at corporate and industry events. A graduate of Washington & Lee University and a veteran advance man for Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey, John lives for this!

Alex Ziegler

Alex Ziegler is a coder with a primary love for backend engineering and scripting languages. He discovered his passion for that type of narrative while working for a production company, Union Editorial, as a screenwriter. His cinematic interests largely lay between slapstick and drama. When not programming at Fandor, Alex spends his time researching and playing with programming paradigms.
